What kind of Yoga will I be doing?
I describe my classes as a Vinyasa style, flow class. Focus is on strength, Flexibility, mobility and moving with the breath.
Classes start with me asking each student what they are thankful for and I contribute myself.
Then we do a meditation and/or breath work.
I structure my classes to warm up, working to a peak pose and then cooling down, finishing with some restorative poses and ending in Savasana.
We use props and I do take time out of the flow to place attention on specific poses or areas I feel will help the students in their practice.
I very much teach to the students in class, offering alternate poses and variations to meet everyone where they are.
The classes are usually 4-6 students.
I don’t practice OHM in the classes and I would say I teach more from the alignment/anatomy/health side of things with my background being a Massage Therapist. Mindfulness, focus on the breath, compassion without judgement, all included.
I like to keep my classes light and playful, always hoping to get a few giggles here and there.
Overall, I would call myself an Eclectic teacher, as I continue to learn and grow in Yoga and do my best with that information. I value and honour Yoga as well as am inspired by the science around movement.
How long are the classes?
Classes are 60 minutes long. It works great if you can come 5 minutes early to get set up. I usually go a little late….but if you need to leave on time, please do.
What do I need?
Bring a yoga mat and water. Wear comfortable clothes. I have extra mats if you need one.

All Big Sky Yoga classes are held at the studio in the Didsbury Massage & Wellness Centre.

What if I arrive late to class?
Life happens and I would rather you come late than not at all. Slide in quietly and enjoy the class.
Are there make up classes?
Yes. Every session I provide one make up class. Usually you receive $14 off of your next session unless there is a make up class in the schedule.
How do I know what level of class to register for?
If you have never done Yoga before a beginner class is a great place to start.
If you haven’t done Yoga before buy you are pretty active a Beginner/Intermediate class will usually be a good fit.
If you have practiced Yoga and are active the Intermediate class is a great fit.
